ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether using virtual reality videos or a coloring activity called mandala coloring can help reduce anxiety in pregnant women during a common prenatal test called the non-stress test (NST). The NST checks how the baby is doing by monitoring the baby's movements and heart rate. Although the test is painless, many pregnant women feel anxious, and this anxiety can affect the test results, sometimes leading to unnecessary worry or even more cesarean sections. This study aims to see if these calming activities can lower anxiety, improve how satisfied women feel about the test, and lead to better test results.
Pregnant women over 18 who are healthy, without chronic illnesses or pregnancy complications, and have a single baby may be eligible to participate. Women with conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, or multiple pregnancies would not be included. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: one using virtual reality videos, one doing mandala coloring, or a control group. During their routine NST appointment, participants will complete questionnaires about their anxiety and satisfaction, and their NST results will be recorded. The study will take place at a hospital in Turkey and aims to include about 108 women. This research hopes to find simple, non-medication ways to make the NST experience less stressful and more comfortable for expectant mothers.
