ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how smoking cessation—quitting tobacco—is currently approached in hospital settings in France. It aims to understand the knowledge, attitudes, and habits of both healthcare providers and patients when it comes to helping people stop smoking. The study will gather this information through questionnaires to see what is working well and what could be improved, especially from the patient’s point of view, which hasn’t been studied much before.

People eligible to join this study include adults over 18 who are regular smokers (meaning they smoke at least one cigarette or similar product every day), no matter their health condition or reason for visiting the hospital. Both men and women can participate. Healthcare professionals working at the hospital, such as doctors, specialists, interns, and senior students in relevant fields, may also take part. Participants will be asked to complete questionnaires about their experiences and views on smoking and quitting. This study does not include former smokers, non-smokers, or those with language difficulties, and participation requires agreeing to take part by signing a form. The goal is to better understand how hospitals can support people who want to quit smoking.
