ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different types of educational support can help people with venous leg ulcers, which are wounds caused by poor blood flow in the legs. The goal is to see if a special video-based education helps patients and their caregivers feel more confident in managing the ulcers compared to the usual pamphlet-based information. Researchers will also look at whether this video education helps wounds heal faster, reduces the chance of the ulcers coming back, and improves overall well-being over a year.
People who might join the study are adults with venous leg ulcers who speak and understand Italian, can read and answer questions, and attend certain nursing clinics. Participants need to have access to a smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet (or have a caregiver who can help with this). They cannot join if they have other types of leg ulcers or problems with blood flow in their arteries. During the study, participants will be randomly put into two groups: one will get the usual pamphlet education, and the other will watch the special video. They will complete a few questionnaires over the next year, and researchers will check in by phone to see how their ulcers are healing or if they have come back. This study aims to find better ways to support people living with venous leg ulcers for improved healing and quality of life.
