ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at whether a special type of light therapy, called photobiomodulation using a superpulsed laser, can help reduce facial pain and tension headaches in children and teenagers. The treatment uses two wavelengths of light (810 nm and 980 nm) and will be tested over eight sessions. The study will compare the effects of the real light therapy to a fake (sham) treatment to see if it truly helps with pain relief.

Children and teens between 6 and 17 years old who have symptoms of facial pain or headaches and are patients at a specific clinic in Brazil may be eligible to join. To participate, they must not have used certain medications like steroids or pain relievers recently, not be pregnant, and not have a history of sensitivity to light treatments. If accepted, participants will attend eight treatment sessions and have their pain and other measurements checked before and after the therapy. This study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to find a safe and effective way to ease pain in young people using light therapy.
