ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is testing a new questionnaire called PETRA, designed to help doctors better understand how people with thoracic brachial outlet syndrome (TBS) avoid using their arm and shoulder during daily activities. TBS is a condition that can cause pain or weakness in the upper limb. Right now, doctors rely on complicated surveys that are hard for patients to fill out and don’t fully capture how often certain tasks are avoided. PETRA aims to be a simple and quick tool that not only looks at which activities people avoid but also how often they need to do those activities, giving a clearer picture of how much the condition affects daily life.
Adults who have been referred to a doctor because they might have TBS can take part in this study. Participants will be asked to complete the PETRA questionnaire, which is easy to fill out and helps doctors assess their symptoms more accurately. The goal is to see if this new tool works well enough to be used regularly in clinics for both new patients and during follow-up visits. People who are not willing or able to complete the questionnaire or understand the study won’t be able to join. This study is not yet recruiting but will include adults of all genders.
