ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new way to help men with advanced prostate cancer who live in rural areas stay active and feel better while undergoing hormone therapy, a common treatment for their cancer. Because traveling to physical therapy can be hard for people in remote locations, this study will test if using special technology to guide and support exercise at home can improve patients’ symptoms, fitness, and overall quality of life compared to exercising at home without this technology.
Men aged 21 or older who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and are receiving hormone treatment, and who live in rural communities, may be eligible to join. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups: one group will exercise at home using the new technology with support from a rehabilitation team, and the other group will exercise at home without this technology. The study will last six months, and researchers will look at how each group feels and functions during that time. To take part, individuals should not have certain heart problems, recent injuries, or be involved in other exercise programs or clinical trials. They will also need a working phone line or cell phone at home. This study hopes to make cancer rehabilitation more accessible for rural patients and could help improve care for others facing similar challenges.
