ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying three different types of special needles used to take tissue samples from solid lumps in the pancreas, called pancreatic masses. These needles—called Franseen, Forward-bevel Westcott, and Fork-tip—are designed to collect small pieces of tissue more accurately during a procedure called Endoscopic Ultrasound-Guided Fine Needle Biopsy (EUS-FNB). The goal is to find out which needle type provides the most accurate diagnosis while being safe and efficient. This is important because better tissue samples help doctors decide the best treatment for pancreatic problems, including cancer.
People who are 18 years or older with a solid pancreatic lump larger than 1 cm and who need a tissue test may be eligible to join. The trial does not include pregnant individuals, those with certain bleeding problems, people who have had specific stomach surgeries, or anyone unable to give informed consent. Participants can expect to have the biopsy procedure using one of the three needles being studied. This trial is currently recruiting and aims to help doctors choose the best needle for diagnosing pancreatic masses, potentially improving care for future patients.
