ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how common high-risk types of human papillomavirus (HPV) infections are in the mouth and throat area of healthy adults aged 40 and older in the Czech Republic. HPV is a virus that can sometimes lead to a type of throat cancer called oropharyngeal cancer. The goal is to find the best way to screen, or test, people for early signs of this cancer by checking for the virus in the mouth.

People who are 40 years or older, can gargle and rinse their mouth on their own, and agree to participate by signing a consent form may join this study. Those who have had head or neck cancer before cannot take part. Participants will be asked to rinse their mouth with a special liquid, which helps collect cells to test for the virus. This study is still looking for volunteers, and it aims to improve early detection methods so that throat cancers related to HPV can be found and treated sooner.
