ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether following a Mediterranean diet—known for being rich in fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats—can help people with multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is a condition where the immune system affects the brain and spinal cord, and things like diet might influence how the disease progresses. The researchers want to see if eating this type of healthy diet, which is high in natural plant compounds called flavonoids, can improve aspects of the disease.
People with MS who have a certain level of disability (measured by a scale called EDSS between 0 and 6) may be eligible to join, as long as they do not have any diagnosed digestive problems. Participants can expect to follow the Mediterranean diet during the study, and the researchers will monitor how this affects their MS symptoms and overall health. This study is currently looking for volunteers, and it is open to adults of all genders who meet the criteria.
