ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two types of pain relief methods used during surgery on the arm. Both methods use a medicine called lidocaine to numb the arm, but one method adds another medicine called dexmedetomidine to see if it helps reduce pain more effectively or for a longer time after surgery. The goal is to find out which combination works better to keep patients comfortable during and after their surgery.
People who might join this study are adults in good health (classified as ASA Status I or II) who are having planned surgery on their upper limb that will last less than 45 minutes. However, people with certain health issues like sleep apnea, a high body mass index (over 30), heart rhythm problems, or uncontrolled high blood pressure would not be able to take part. If you join, you can expect to receive one of the two pain relief methods during your surgery, and the doctors will monitor your pain levels afterward to see which treatment provides better relief. This study is currently looking for participants, so if you fit the criteria and are interested, you might want to talk to your doctor about it.
