ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how common fibromyalgia—a condition that causes widespread pain and tiredness—is among women who think they might have endometriosis, a condition where tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside it, causing pain and other symptoms. The study will take place at a hospital clinic where women come for their first visit if they suspect they have endometriosis. Researchers want to see how often fibromyalgia occurs in these patients and whether having both conditions affects symptoms differently compared to having just one.
Women who are visiting the clinic for the first time because they think they have endometriosis may be asked to fill out a questionnaire about their pain and other symptoms before seeing the doctor. The doctor won’t see these answers during the visit, but after, the researchers will review the responses to check for signs of fibromyalgia. If fibromyalgia is found, patients will be offered treatment for both conditions. To join, women must be new to the clinic and not already diagnosed with fibromyalgia. This study aims to help better understand and treat women who might be dealing with both endometriosis and fibromyalgia together.
