ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different types of ultrasound probes used to quickly check for internal bleeding or fluid in patients who have experienced chest or abdominal injuries. Ultrasound is a safe imaging test that helps doctors see inside the body without surgery. In emergency rooms, a quick ultrasound called FAST (Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma) helps doctors decide the best treatment by spotting any dangerous fluid build-up. This study will compare whether using a curved ultrasound probe (curvilinear) works better than the usual heart-shaped probe (phased-array) for finding these problems in trauma patients.
Adults aged 18 and older who come to the emergency room with trauma and need a FAST ultrasound may be eligible to take part, as long as they are covered by the French Social Security system (or similar). Pregnant women and those under certain legal restrictions cannot participate. If you join the study, you will have a FAST ultrasound using one of the two probes, and the doctors will see which probe helps them find issues more accurately. This research aims to improve how quickly and correctly trauma patients are diagnosed, which can lead to better care and outcomes.
