ClinConnect Summary

This study is focused on finding early signs of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) in children and teenagers who have a close family member, like a parent or sibling, with T1D. The goal is to detect the condition before symptoms appear, so doctors can better monitor and manage the risk. The study will follow international guidelines to make sure the screening and data collected are done in a consistent and reliable way.

Children and teens between 1.5 and 18 years old who have a parent, brother, or sister with Type 1 Diabetes may be eligible to join. If you decide to participate, there will be two visits over about 13 months. The first visit is for initial screening, and the second visit is to confirm the results. It’s important to note that children who already have diabetes or have been treated with insulin won’t be able to participate. Parents or legal guardians will need to give permission for their child to take part. This study is not yet open for enrollment, but it aims to help catch Type 1 Diabetes early in those most at risk.
