ClinConnect Summary
This study is focused on improving how gastric tubes (small tubes placed through the nose into the stomach to provide nutrition) are used for children in hospitals. The goal is to make sure that the way these tubes are placed is as safe and effective as possible by reviewing the latest research and helping nurses learn the best methods. The project will also look at challenges nurses face and find ways to support them better in their work, ultimately aiming to improve care and outcomes for children who need these tubes.
Children aged 0 to 18 years who are in the hospital and need a gastric tube placed may be part of this study, as long as their parents or guardians agree. Nurses who care for these children and have at least one year of pediatric experience can also be involved. The study does not include children with very serious health issues or those needing the tube for other reasons like draining the stomach. If you or your child take part, you can expect the hospital staff to use the most up-to-date, carefully reviewed methods to place and manage the gastric tube, helping to keep your child safe and comfortable during their treatment.
