ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is testing a new electronic system designed to help pharmacists better manage asthma care in their pharmacies. The system, called the electronic Asthma Management System (eAMS-Pharm), uses information about a patient’s asthma symptoms, risk of flare-ups, and current medications to guide pharmacists in checking asthma control, adjusting medications when needed, providing personalized asthma action plans, and suggesting when a patient should see a specialist for severe asthma. The goal is to improve how asthma is managed in pharmacies and make sure patients get the care recommended by asthma guidelines.
If you have asthma and visit one of the three pharmacies participating in the study, you might be eligible to take part. Pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and assistants, at these locations will also be involved. Participants can expect the pharmacy team to use the new electronic system during visits, which may lead to better asthma control checks, medication reviews, and personalized advice. The study will compare care before and after the system is introduced to see if it makes a positive difference. The trial has not started recruiting yet, and it includes people of all genders aged 5 and up.
