ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a specific type of diabetic eye condition called non-center-involving diabetic macular edema (NCIDME) changes shortly after cataract surgery using a method called phacoemulsification. NCIDME means there is swelling in part of the eye, but not in the very center, which can affect vision. The researchers want to understand if and how this swelling progresses in the early weeks following the surgery.
People who may be eligible for this study are adults aged 18 and older who have mild to moderate cataracts and this particular type of diabetic eye swelling. The study includes both men and women. However, people with severe eye problems related to diabetes, serious cataracts, or those who might need more complex eye surgery won’t be able to join. If you take part, you can expect the medical team to closely monitor your eye health after your cataract surgery to see how the swelling changes. This information could help doctors better understand the risks and care needed for people with diabetes who need cataract surgery. The trial is not yet recruiting participants.
