ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how the temperature of the feet differs between people with and without diabetes in Guadeloupe, especially focusing on those with diabetic foot infections or wounds. Using a special camera that detects heat (called infrared thermography), researchers want to compare the temperature in four specific areas on the bottom of the foot. This might help doctors better understand and monitor foot problems in people with diabetes.
Adults aged 65 to 74 of Afro-Caribbean origin who live in Guadeloupe may be eligible to join. This includes people without any health problems as well as those with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, both with and without foot ulcers (open sores). To participate, individuals must be covered by a social security plan and agree to take part in the study. People with certain conditions, like recent fractures, past leg surgeries, amputations, neurological diseases, pregnancy, or foot infections other than ulcers, cannot join. Participants will have their foot temperatures measured using the infrared camera, which is a painless and non-invasive process. This study is currently recruiting volunteers, and the results could lead to better ways to detect and care for diabetic foot issues in the future.
