ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether a special gel called Endotra Gel, made from a substance called hyaluronic acid, can help prevent sore throat, hoarseness, and coughing after surgery. These symptoms often happen when a breathing tube (called an endotracheal tube) is placed in the windpipe during general anesthesia. The gel would be applied to the breathing tube before surgery to see if it can reduce irritation and make recovery more comfortable.
Adults between 19 and 80 years old who are having breast cancer surgery under general anesthesia with a breathing tube may be eligible to join the study. People with certain airway conditions, recent throat infections, or other health issues may not qualify. If you participate, you will be randomly placed into one of two groups: one that gets the gel applied to the breathing tube, and one that receives the usual care without the gel. After surgery, you will be asked about any sore throat, hoarseness, or coughing, both right after and the day following your operation. The goal is to learn if this gel can help improve comfort and reduce throat irritation after surgery.
