ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a special way of giving anesthesia called low-flow anesthesia (LFA) during open-heart surgery. LFA involves recycling some of the air a patient breathes out, mixing it with fresh gas, and sending it back to the lungs, which may help manage how the heart and blood flow react during surgery. The study aims to find out if different amounts of fresh gas used with LFA affect heart function during these operations.
Adults aged 18 and older who are scheduled for open-heart surgery and are in generally stable health groups (called ASA I-IV) may be eligible to join. However, emergency cases, people under 18, those who have had open-heart surgery before, or those who cannot have inhaled anesthesia won’t be able to participate. If you join, you will receive low-flow anesthesia during your surgery, and the medical team will carefully monitor your heart and blood flow to see how different gas flow rates affect you. Participation is voluntary, and you will be asked to sign a consent form before joining. This study is not yet recruiting participants.
