ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different types of mental activities can help older adults with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease, a condition that affects memory and thinking skills. The researchers want to compare two kinds of cognitive stimulation: one using digital tools like tablets or computers, and the other using traditional, hands-on activities like puzzles or memory games. They will look at how these activities might improve memory, problem-solving abilities, mood, and overall quality of life. The study will also consider how different care settings and locations might influence the results.
To take part, individuals need to be 65 years or older, have a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, and have been receiving care or support services for at least three months. Participants should be able to communicate well, speak Portuguese as their first language, and have a certain level of cognitive ability as measured by a simple memory and thinking test. People with serious health problems, severe communication difficulties, or recent changes in certain medications won’t be eligible. If chosen, participants can expect to engage in regular mental exercises, either through digital or physical activities, with the goal of helping their thinking skills and mood. This study is not yet open for enrollment but aims to better understand how different types of brain stimulation can support those living with Alzheimer’s.
