ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at whether routine follow-up appointments after hip or knee replacement surgery are really necessary. Right now, patients usually have an X-ray and check-up within 3 months and again at 1 year after surgery, with additional follow-ups every 5 years for knee replacements or at 5 years for hip replacements. These visits take time and resources, and the study wants to find out if fewer routine visits—maybe just the one at 3 months—could be just as safe and effective. If so, this could reduce many unnecessary hospital visits and save costs, while still allowing patients or doctors to request extra appointments if needed.
The study will include people who have had hip or knee replacement surgery and can understand Dutch. Participants will share their experiences and thoughts about follow-up care, and healthcare professionals will do the same. The goal is to better understand how patients and doctors feel about changing the current follow-up schedule and to help update future guidelines. The trial is not yet recruiting, and it welcomes adults of all genders who meet the language requirement.
