ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how heart health risks relate to physical activity in people with chronic kidney disease who are receiving a type of treatment called peritoneal dialysis. Peritoneal dialysis is a way to clean the blood when the kidneys aren’t working well. The study aims to understand if being more active can help reduce risks like stiff arteries, which can affect heart health.
People who might join this study are adults aged 18 or older who have chronic kidney disease and have been on peritoneal dialysis for at least three months. To take part, participants need to be able to walk on their own and not have serious health problems that would make it hard to wear a small device (an accelerometer) used to track their activity. Those with memory issues or recent leg injuries may not be eligible. If you join, you can expect to have your physical activity measured and your heart health evaluated to see how they are connected. This study is not yet recruiting participants but aims to help improve care and advice for people with kidney disease in the future.
