Pregnant Women Exercise Physical Condition Exergames Low Risk Pregnancy Physical Activity

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring whether a special exercise program using a video game can help improve the strength and fitness of pregnant women who have low-risk pregnancies. The program involves using a Nintendo Switch game that encourages gentle physical activity like jogging, squatting, and stretching, designed specifically to be safe and supportive during pregnancy. The goal is to see if this fun, game-based exercise can help expectant mothers stay active and feel stronger throughout their pregnancy.

Women who are eligible to join the study must be over 18, have a low-risk pregnancy, be able to understand and communicate in Spanish, and be physically able to exercise for about 30 minutes, two to three times a week, for at least eight weeks. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the group using the exercise game or a control group that receives the usual pregnancy care and education. Those in the exercise group will use the game with guidance from a health professional, and the program includes helpful features like knee support to make movements easier and safer. The study will take place at health centers in Andalusia, Spain, and aims to learn whether this fun, interactive exercise can be a helpful part of pregnancy care.
