ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking at how virtual reality (VR) experiences might affect certain stress-related substances in the blood. Healthy adults will watch two types of VR videos: one that is relaxing and another that is designed to be stressful, like a rollercoaster ride. The researchers will take blood samples before and after each VR experience to see if these videos cause any changes in stress levels in the body.
To join this study, participants need to be between 18 and 45 years old and able to give written consent. People with certain health conditions, such as blood or hormone disorders, heart problems, epilepsy, or those who are pregnant, cannot take part. During the study, participants will visit twice, about 3 to 5 weeks apart, watching one type of VR video each time for about five minutes, with blood samples taken before and after. This research might help us understand how VR can influence stress and the body’s response to it.
