ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to measure how well the kidneys are working in people whose kidney function is reduced. Normally, doctors estimate kidney function using blood tests, but these tests aren’t always perfectly accurate. When an exact measurement is needed, current methods can be complicated, take a long time, and require special equipment. This study is testing whether a type of CT scan (a detailed X-ray exam called CT urography) can quickly and accurately measure kidney function in patients with lower kidney function, without needing extra blood or urine tests.
People who might take part are adults over 18 years old whose estimated kidney function is below a certain level (less than 60 mL/min/1.73 m²), and who are already scheduled for an abdominal CT scan at the Henri Mondor University Hospital. Participants must have health insurance in France and be able to give consent. The CT scan used in this study takes about 10 minutes and doesn’t require any additional blood draws. However, people with hip implants or without health insurance cannot join. This trial aims to find a simpler, faster, and reliable way to measure kidney health that could be easier for patients and doctors in the future.
