ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether two simple blood tests—the albumin to globulin ratio (AGR) and the prognostic nutritional index (PNI)—can help doctors better understand how active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is in patients. SLE is a disease where the immune system attacks the body, causing inflammation and various symptoms. By looking at these blood markers, which reflect nutrition and inflammation, researchers hope to create an easy, non-invasive, and affordable way to monitor disease activity and guide treatment.
Adults aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with SLE according to specific guidelines may be eligible to join this study. People with other chronic inflammatory or autoimmune diseases, recent infections, certain cancers, liver or kidney problems, or who are pregnant or breastfeeding, would not qualify. Participants can expect to have their blood tested and clinical information reviewed to see how these markers relate to their disease. This study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to improve how doctors track SLE, making it simpler and less burdensome for patients in the future.
