ClinConnect Summary
This study is following up with a group of people from Shanghai who were first checked between 2016 and 2017 to understand how heart, kidney, and metabolic health have changed over time. The researchers want to see how conditions like diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, cholesterol problems, thyroid issues, bone health, kidney disease, and heart disease are connected and how they develop together. They will compare the new health information with what was recorded before to learn more about how these health risks and conditions progress.
The study will invite about 4,000 adults from Shanghai who took part in the original group and completed all the initial tests and surveys. To join, participants need to still live in the same community and be willing to take part again. During the study, participants will have follow-up assessments to check their heart and kidney health, and the researchers will track changes until 2035. This long-term approach helps doctors better understand these conditions and how to manage them together. If you were part of the original group, you might be contacted to join this important follow-up.
