ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the immediate effects of two different treatments—mobilization and manipulation—compared to a fake (sham) manipulation on how pressure is distributed on the bottom of the foot in people with hallux valgus, a common foot deformity often called a bunion. The study will also look at how these treatments affect pain and quality of life right after the treatment. Researchers will measure things like foot angle, pain levels, and foot pressure using special tools and questionnaires to understand any changes.
People who are 18 years or older and have hallux valgus, meaning their big toe is angled inward with a certain severity, may be eligible to participate. However, those who have had foot or ankle surgery in the past six months or have neurological or psychiatric conditions will not be able to join. If you participate, you will be assigned to either the real treatment group or the fake treatment group, and your foot pressure and pain will be checked before and after the treatment to see if there are any immediate benefits. This study is not yet recruiting participants but aims to include a total of 60 feet, with half receiving the real treatment.
