ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial aims to understand what people in Upper Egypt know and think about Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a type of bacteria that can cause stomach problems. The study will look at how much non-medical individuals know about how the infection spreads, how it’s diagnosed, treated, and what problems it might cause. It will also explore people’s attitudes toward testing for the infection, the importance of getting rid of it, and concerns about antibiotic resistance, which is when medicines stop working against bacteria. The study will identify current practices in diagnosing and treating H. pylori and any challenges people face, such as access to tests, cost, or lack of information.
People eligible to join this study are adults over 18 years old who are not healthcare workers, including patients and their family members, as long as they agree to participate by giving informed consent. Participants can expect to answer questions about their knowledge, attitudes, and experiences related to H. pylori infection. This study is important because it helps understand what the general public knows and what barriers exist, which can improve future education and healthcare services related to this infection.
