ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether a mobile phone app called "SIVI" can help older adults (ages 65 to 84) drink enough fluids and stay better hydrated. Dehydration is a common problem in older people that can lead to health issues like weakness, hospital visits, and difficulties with daily activities. The app is designed especially for older adults and includes features like daily water intake tracking, reminders to drink, educational videos, and personalized hydration goals to encourage healthy habits.
To take part, you need to be between 65 and 84 years old, drink less water than recommended (less than 2 liters a day for men or 1.6 liters for women), have basic education, be able to use a smartphone, and be willing to try the app for two months. People with serious health problems, severe memory issues, or who cannot use the app consistently will not be eligible. Participants will be randomly assigned to either use the app or continue their usual care. Those using the app will receive a special water bottle and regular support to help track their fluid intake. The study will check how well the app improves knowledge about hydration, changes attitudes, and encourages better drinking habits over two months. This trial aims to find new ways to help older adults manage their hydration and reduce health risks related to dehydration.
