ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at whether using a gentle, continuous breathing support method called low tidal volume ventilation during heart bypass surgery can help protect the kidneys after the operation. Kidney problems after this type of surgery are fairly common and can make recovery harder. The study will check a measurement called the Renal Resistive Index (RRI), which uses an ultrasound to see how well blood is flowing through the kidneys. Higher RRI numbers might show early signs of kidney trouble, so tracking these numbers before and after surgery could help doctors catch and prevent kidney issues sooner.
People who might join this study are adults over 18 who are scheduled for planned heart bypass surgery and have a moderate to serious health status based on anesthesia risk (but not emergency cases or those already on dialysis). Participants can expect to have their kidney blood flow measured with a painless ultrasound before and after surgery to see if this breathing method helps lower the risk of kidney problems. This study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to find ways to improve recovery and reduce complications for heart surgery patients.
