ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is testing a program called Coping with Asthma through Life Management (CALM), which aims to help Black adults with asthma manage their stress better. The goal is to see if this program is practical and well-received by participants. Since stress can make asthma harder to control, this study wants to find out if learning ways to handle stress can improve overall asthma care.

To join the study, participants need to be at least 18 years old, identify as Black or African-American, and have a current diagnosis of asthma that is ongoing and not well controlled. This means they have had asthma flare-ups in the past year or have symptoms that aren’t well managed. They also must be experiencing moderate to high levels of stress and have visited a primary care clinic within the last three years. People with serious mental health conditions or who are unable to consent won’t be eligible. Participants can expect to be involved in the CALM program, which focuses on stress management to help with their asthma. This study is not yet recruiting, but it offers a chance to learn new ways to cope with asthma and stress together.
