ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at whether Apple AirPods Pro 2 can be used to test hearing and help people with hearing loss hear better, similar to traditional hearing aids. The researchers want to find out if the hearing test done using AirPods Pro 2 gives results that match the standard hearing test done by an audiologist in a quiet room. They also want to see if the AirPods can make sounds louder in a way that is just as helpful as a regular hearing aid.
Adults who speak English and have mild to moderate hearing loss may be able to join this study, as long as they don’t have an active ear infection and pass a simple thinking and memory test. Participants will take a standard hearing test, try the Apple hearing test with the AirPods, and have the loudness of both the AirPods and a traditional hearing aid measured for comparison. This study has not started recruiting yet, but it hopes to help people understand if AirPods Pro 2 could be a useful option for hearing support in the future.
