ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different types of exercise programs to see how they might help older adults who have Motoric Cognitive Risk Syndrome (MCR). MCR is a condition that can happen as people get older, where they start to notice memory problems and move more slowly, putting them at risk for dementia or mild cognitive issues. The study will compare traditional neuromuscular exercises, which focus on strengthening muscles and improving movement, with a fun approach called exergaming, which uses video games that encourage physical activity. The goal is to find out which program better helps with walking ability and thinking skills.
To take part, you need to be 65 or older, able to walk (with or without help), and have some memory concerns along with slower walking speed, but not be diagnosed with dementia or certain other health problems like major depression or Parkinson’s disease. Participants should also be mostly independent in daily activities and have a good general memory score. If you join, you can expect to be involved in one of the two exercise programs designed to improve both your movement and memory. This study is important because it’s the first to directly compare these two approaches in people at risk for cognitive decline, helping to find better ways to support healthy aging.
