ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how exercises that strengthen the pelvic floor muscles can help men recover bladder control after surgery to remove the prostate gland (called radical prostatectomy), which is a common treatment for prostate cancer. Many men experience urinary incontinence—leaking or difficulty controlling urine—after this surgery, which can affect their daily life and well-being. The study will look at how nursing care, including education, pelvic floor muscle exercises, and bladder training before and after surgery, can reduce the severity of incontinence, improve quality of life, and increase patient satisfaction.

Men who are 40 years or older, have prostate cancer, and have had their prostate removed through surgery may be eligible if they did not have urinary incontinence before the operation. The study excludes those with certain serious health issues or past surgeries that might affect the urinary system. Participants can expect to receive guidance and support on exercises and bladder training from nurses to help manage or prevent incontinence after surgery. This research aims to find the best nursing approaches to help men regain control and improve their comfort and confidence after prostate surgery.
