ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the best way to manage pain after thyroid surgery by comparing two medicines, lidocaine and ketamine, which are given through an IV during and after the operation. Both drugs are used to help control pain, and the study wants to see which one works better for people having their thyroid removed.
People who might join this study are adults between 18 and 75 years old, of any gender, who are scheduled for thyroid surgery. However, those with certain conditions like toxic goiter, very high body weight (BMI over 30), uncontrolled high blood pressure, serious liver or kidney problems, allergies to the study medicines, or an overactive thyroid won’t be able to participate. If you join, you can expect to receive either lidocaine or ketamine during and after your surgery, and the doctors will monitor your pain levels to find out which medicine helps best with recovery. This study is still recruiting participants, so if you or a family member is preparing for thyroid surgery and meets these criteria, you might consider asking your doctor about this option.
