ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how adding a special 4-week exercise program, focused on everyday hand activities, can help people recover after surgery for a specific type of hand tendon injury called a “zone 2 flexor tendon laceration.” These tendons help you bend your fingers, and injuries here can make it hard to use your hand. The study aims to see if this extra exercise program can improve hand movement, strength, reduce pain, and help patients feel more confident about moving their hand during recovery.
People between 18 and 65 years old who have had surgery to repair one or more tendons in this part of the hand may be eligible. To join, participants should have no serious nerve or bone injuries in the hand and need to be able to follow simple instructions. During the study, participants will do the usual rehabilitation exercises plus the occupation-based program, which focuses on practical hand use. The goal is to make recovery easier, reduce the chance of problems, keep patients motivated, and improve how well their hand works after surgery. The trial is not yet recruiting, but it hopes to show that including these specific exercises can make a real difference in healing.
