ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking at how well patients’ own reports about their recovery after hip replacement surgery match up with actual physical tests of their movement and mobility. The goal is to better understand how useful both patient questionnaires and practical walking or movement tests are for tracking recovery after a total hip replacement.
People who might take part are those who had a hip replacement on one side at least six months ago and can walk on their own, with or without a walking aid. Participants will need to be able to understand and complete questionnaires about their recovery. The study does not include anyone who has had a second hip surgery on the same or opposite side, additional leg surgeries after the hip replacement, a very high body weight, or health problems that affect walking or balance. Participants can expect to complete some questionnaires and perform simple tests that measure their physical abilities, helping doctors learn more about how well these tools reflect true recovery after hip surgery.
