ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to predict the risk of experiencing pain inside the abdomen (called visceral pain) after abdominal surgery. The researchers want to create a tool that can help doctors know before surgery which patients are more likely to have this kind of pain. This could help doctors plan better pain relief and care tailored to each patient’s needs.
The study is looking for adults aged 18 to 70 who are having planned (not emergency) abdominal surgeries that last at least two hours, such as surgeries involving the stomach, liver, or reproductive organs. To join, patients should be generally healthy enough for surgery (but with some minor health issues) and should not have had previous abdominal surgeries, ongoing chronic pain, or be using long-term pain or mental health medications. Participants will be followed after their surgery to track their pain levels. This study isn’t recruiting yet, but it aims to improve how pain is managed after surgery, making recovery more comfortable for future patients.
