ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying ways to reduce pain, anxiety, and discomfort that people might feel before receiving a ventrogluteal injection, which is a type of shot given in the hip area. The study compares two methods—acupressure (applying gentle pressure to specific points on the body) and cold application (using cold packs on those same points)—to see how well they help with pain, anxiety, comfort, and changes in heart rate and blood pressure during the injection.

Adults between 18 and 65 years old who need to receive at least two doses of penicillin by injection each day and agree to join the study may be eligible. If you take part, you can expect to receive either acupressure or cold treatment before your injection, and the researchers will monitor how these methods affect your pain, anxiety, comfort, and vital signs like pulse and blood pressure. This study aims to find simple and non-drug ways to make injections less stressful and more comfortable for patients.
