ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new treatment called laser posterior nasal nerve neurolysis to see if it can help adults who have chronic rhinitis—a condition that causes long-lasting nasal allergy symptoms like a runny nose, sneezing, stuffiness, and congestion that don’t get better with regular medicines. The study also wants to find out if this laser treatment is safe and what side effects it might cause. To do this, researchers will compare the laser treatment to a fake procedure (called a placebo) that feels the same but doesn’t actually use the laser, to see if the real treatment works better.
People who might be eligible for this study are adults between 18 and 65 years old who have had bothersome nasal allergy symptoms for at least six months and haven’t found relief with standard medications like nasal sprays and allergy pills. If they join, participants will have the laser treatment done in the doctor’s office with local numbing medicine, so they won’t feel pain. They will then come back for check-ups at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months after the treatment to see how their symptoms are doing. They will also be asked to rate their symptoms before and after the treatment to help researchers understand if the laser therapy is effective. This study is currently looking for volunteers, and anyone interested should make sure they don’t have certain conditions that might make the procedure unsafe, like recent sinus infections or previous nasal surgeries.
