ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is testing a new, four-week online program designed to help people with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes manage the emotional challenges that often come with the condition. The program is based on Compassionate Mind Training, which aims to reduce feelings of stress, self-criticism, and shame related to living with diabetes, while also supporting better physical health. The main goal is to see if this type of support is practical and helpful for people managing diabetes on their own.
People who might join this study need to be 18 or older, have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes for more than a year, and be managing their diabetes themselves. They should also be experiencing emotional difficulties related to diabetes and identified by their NHS healthcare team as needing extra mental health support. Participants should have access to the internet and a device like a smartphone or computer to use the program. Those with severe mental health crises or other specific health conditions won’t be able to join. If eligible, participants can expect to take part in the online program from home, learning new ways to feel more compassionate toward themselves and better cope with the emotional side of diabetes.
