ClinConnect Summary
This is an observational study being conducted at Sinai University in Ismailia, Egypt. Researchers plan to enroll about 663 healthy students aged 16 to 25 — 334 physical therapy students and 329 pharmacy students — and have them complete a questionnaire about their tooth-cleaning habits, eating and nutrition, and overall oral health. The main goal is to see how oral hygiene and dietary habits relate to oral health problems, and to compare what students in the two programs know about oral health. They will also look at body mass index as a secondary measure. The study design means researchers will observe these factors at one point in time, without giving any treatment.
If you are invited to participate and you meet the age and program criteria, you would simply fill out a survey. There are no medications or procedures involved. Participation is voluntary. Recruitment began in June 2025 and is ongoing, with completion expected around August 2025. At this time, results have not been reported yet, and data sharing plans are still undecided. The study is led by Sinai University, with Dr. Alaa Noureldeen Kora as the principal investigator.
