ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new support program designed to help young adults aged 18 to 27 who have recently left a hospital or emergency room because of thoughts about suicide, a suicide attempt, depression, or anxiety. The goal is to see if this program can reduce suicidal thoughts, improve mood and anxiety, prevent the need to return to the hospital, and help participants on their path to recovery. The program offers extra education and support through one-on-one and group meetings led by people with lived experience, called Peer Support Specialists, along with local recovery organizations.

If you join the study, you will be placed in one of two groups for eight weeks. One group will receive the new support program, including personal meetings and group sessions. The other group will receive the usual care, which involves regular phone check-ins and information about medications and community resources. Throughout the study, your progress will be checked with assessments, and your medication use and any hospital visits will be tracked. This study is currently looking for participants who meet these criteria and do not have certain other diagnoses like schizophrenia or severe developmental disorders. It’s a chance to get extra support during an important time and help improve care for others in the future.
