ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well two types of dental crowns fit and work when made using different technologies: one is milled by a machine (CAD/CAM), and the other is created by 3D printing. Both types of crowns start from the same digital design, and the study will compare how accurately they fit on teeth after using a special device to guide the process. This research focuses on teeth that have deep cavities and need partial crowns to restore their shape and function.
People who might be eligible for this study are adults with healthy overall health (referred to as ASA I) who have teeth that are either alive or have had root canal treatment, but with some loss of the tooth’s surface (called tubercle loss). However, teeth with infections at the root tip, active gum disease, jaw joint problems, or teeth that are painful won’t be included. Participants can expect to have their teeth evaluated and receive a partial crown made with one of the two methods being tested. This study is not yet recruiting, and it aims to help dentists understand which technology might provide a better fit for crowns, potentially improving dental care outcomes.
