ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at whether adding a special breathing exercise called Ujjayi Pranayama to a hands-on treatment called Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment can help improve lung function and overall physical ability in college students who have a condition called Upper Cross Syndrome. Upper Cross Syndrome happens when certain muscles in the neck, shoulders, and chest become tight or weak, often because of poor posture from using phones, computers, or other devices for long periods. This can cause discomfort and muscle imbalances.
The study is open to full-time college students aged 20 to 29 who have been diagnosed with Upper Cross Syndrome using a specific posture test and who do not have respiratory diseases or major health issues. Participants should not be doing other exercises that might affect the results, and they shouldn’t have a history of serious injuries or surgeries related to the spine or shoulders. Those who join will receive the treatments and have their lung function and physical abilities tested to see if the combination of breathing exercises and manual therapy helps improve their condition. This trial hasn’t started recruiting yet, but it aims to find an easy and effective way to support better posture and breathing in young adults affected by modern lifestyle habits.
