ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is testing a new way to help doctors and healthcare teams in psychiatric clinics prescribe medicines that can treat Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) for patients who also have serious mental health conditions, like depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The goal is to see if this support helps increase the use of these helpful medications in patients who struggle with both alcohol problems and mental illness.

People eligible to take part include patients who are 18 or older, have a major mental health condition, and are being treated for Alcohol Use Disorder at one of the three participating psychiatric clinics. The study also involves the doctors, nurses, and clinic staff who prescribe or manage treatment at these clinics. Participants can expect that the clinics will receive extra help or guidance to encourage the use of AUD medications, but the study focuses mainly on changing how care is provided rather than testing a new medicine. If you or a loved one fits these criteria and are interested, joining the study could help improve treatment options for people facing both mental health and alcohol challenges.
