ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at a new method to help doctors find important lymph nodes during surgery in children with certain types of solid tumors, like rhabdomyosarcoma, sarcoma, or germ cell tumors. The study uses a special dye called ICG, which lights up the lymph nodes connected to the tumor, helping surgeons see and remove the right lymph nodes more accurately. This method is being tested to see if it is safe and if it works well during surgery.

Children under 18 years old who have a solid tumor and need lymph node sampling as part of their treatment at the University of Rochester Medical Center may be eligible to participate. Before surgery, after the child is asleep, the ICG dye will be injected near the tumor to highlight the lymph nodes. This study is not yet recruiting patients, and some children won’t be able to join, such as those with allergies to iodide, very small infants, or those who have had extensive previous surgery in the area. Parents or guardians will need to give permission before their child can take part. This research could help improve how doctors find and treat cancer spread in children in the future.
