ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how the body’s energy use changes during recovery for people who have had a stroke, traumatic brain injury, or major surgery. Researchers want to better understand energy needs during rehabilitation by collecting detailed information like body measurements, activity levels, eating habits, sleep quality, brain function, and movement. They will also analyze blood and stool samples to learn more about metabolism. This information will help create computer-based models to predict energy requirements specific to different types of injuries.
People who may be eligible are adults between 20 and 70 years old who are currently in rehabilitation after a stroke or movement-related injury. To take part, individuals need to be able to move on their own and lie flat for about an hour, and they cannot have certain health conditions like severe metabolic diseases, metal implants, or be pregnant. Participants can expect a thorough set of tests including physical measurements, activity tracking, cognitive tests, and sample collections. This study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to improve how we support people’s nutrition and energy needs during recovery.
