ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is comparing two tools that doctors use to help patients breathe during planned (elective) surgeries. Both tools—a video laryngeal mask airway (VLM) and a video laryngoscope (VLS)—help doctors see the vocal cords and place a breathing tube safely. The study will look at which tool gives a clearer view and how successful the breathing tube placement is. Importantly, this study doesn’t add any extra procedures or risks; it simply observes what happens during usual care.
Adults aged 18 and older who are having planned surgeries under general anesthesia may be eligible to join, as long as they don’t have certain airway difficulties or medical conditions that affect breathing or neck movement. Pregnant patients and those having emergency surgeries are not eligible. If you take part, you can expect your doctors to use one of these two tools as part of your normal anesthesia care, and researchers will collect information about how well the tools work. This study aims to help improve safety and comfort during surgery by finding the best way to manage breathing tubes.
